Unbubble is a free, open-source Windows tool that exports iMessage and SMS conversations directly from an iPhone without creating a full backup. It reconstructs complete threads with reactions, replies, edits, and attachments, and can also parse screen recordings via on-device OCR. The project stands out for its careful engineering around Apple's backup protocol and its polished, privacy-conscious design.

Target audience: end users, privacy-conscious individuals, developers integrating export functionality
