Score: 6.8/10 (Innovation: 6, Technical: 7, Documentation: 8, Utility: 6)

Grip is an open-source macOS screen recorder and screenshot tool that automatically adds zooms, cursor smoothing, and captions to recordings. It stands out for its composable editing model, where screen, camera, mic, and input events remain separate tracks, ensuring preview and export match exactly. The project demonstrates strong technical design in its time mapping and crash recovery, though its impact is limited by being macOS-only.

Target audience: macOS users, developers, technical content creators, and product teams needing quick screen recordings
