Ballast is a macOS menu bar app that scans for disk space consumed by developer toolchains, caches, containers, and leftover project artifacts, then safely reclaims it with previews and re-checks. It stands out for its extensive safety model—risk levels, pin detection, iCloud warnings, and per-tool native removal commands—broadening its appeal beyond simple disk cleaners.

Target audience: macOS developers, devops engineers, and power users managing large development environments
