Speed Demon is a competitive programming platform where participants optimize deliberately slow reference implementations across four tracks, submitting Dockerized solutions that are automatically benchmarked on pinned hardware. The scoring combines an efficiency coefficient (wall time, memory, source size, dependency weight) with human judging, and a live board during the 72-hour window followed by a holdout-dataset final run to penalize overfitting.

Target audience: performance-focused developers, systems programmers, competitive programmers
