Keybytes is a fully modular mechanical keyboard where each key is an independent 1u PCB with its own RISC-V microcontroller, connected via pogo pins for power and I2C. The main board uses an STM32WB55 for Bluetooth and USB, and magnetic cases hold the modules together, allowing arbitrary key rearrangement and reprogramming over the bus. It's an ambitious hardware-firmware co-design that pushes the concept of hot-swappable keyboards to a new level.
