Meanwhile Map is a fully client-side web app that displays contemporaneous historical events on a world map with period-appropriate borders. It queries Wikidata for events with dates and locations, uses OpenHistoricalMap for vector tiles with historical borders, and filters events by category and time window. The project's innovative combination of open historical data sources and client-side processing makes exploring history engaging and accessible.

Target audience: history enthusiasts, educators, researchers, and general public interested in historical context
