Show HN: Webdesk – a Linux desktop in the browser over SSH

Category: devtools

Tags: remote-desktop, webrtc, ssh, linux, go

Score: 7.3/10 (Innovation: 7, Technical: 8, Documentation: 8, Utility: 6)

Webdesk lets you access a Linux machine's desktop directly in your browser over SSH, using WebRTC for peer-to-peer video and input. It is notable for requiring no server-side installation on the target, handling headless machines with a virtual X11 desktop, and cleverly sending the cursor out-of-band for low-latency pointer movement.

Target audience: devops, backend devs, sysadmins, remote developers
