Score: 5.0/10 (Innovation: 5, Technical: 5, Documentation: 6, Utility: 4)

FreshThread is a Windows companion app that monitors Codex Desktop sessions, tracking context pressure, compactions, and token usage, and helps create handoff summaries to continue work in fresh tasks. It is interesting because it addresses a real pain point for long-running AI coding sessions, combining local session monitoring with an MCP-based plugin for Codex.

Target audience: developers using Codex Desktop on Windows
