session-trail is a Claude Code plugin that records development history as an append-only timeline of sessions, decisions, and artifacts rather than a code graph. It combines mechanical hook-based capture of prompts and file touches with LLM-judged milestone nodes (requiring rejected alternatives) rendered in an interactive left-to-right viewer, all stored in a dependency-free JSONL file. It's an interesting reframing of developer memory for agentic workflows, preserving rationale and original prompts which code graphs typically discard.
Target audience: backend devs, AI agent users, developers using Claude Code, engineering teams wanting decision logs
